Sea Basket in Charleston

This restaurant has very good fish and chips. The fish is so fresh and flaky in a nice light fried batter. Fries are great too. What is not to like? Try it! You're gonna like it too.

Really good food and large portions.

The food was good and the price was fair, however the waiter that took our order was rude and very unfriendly.

Wife and I stopped near the last day of our week long trip. It was clean, quiet and the gal at the counter was very friendly. My wife ordered a shrimp cocktail and I ordered the halibut fish and chips. Food was hot and delicious and brought out to us very quickly. Very tasty, very fresh!

Ordered breakfast, came out quick and hot. The french toast was tasty and well portioned, so were the biscuits and gravy. Good for a quick eat by the docks.

Food was okay, but had a piece of plastic in my soup. We were the only people in the restaurant and waited 25 mins for soup. Bathroom was awful!!! Way over priced for what you get. Will not be back and would not recommend.

Excellent product and superb quality. The staff was so friendly and helpful that I could have stayed for a extended time just to visit. Will certainly visit again 😀😋😏

Our waiter was very nice and gave us lots of information about the local fisherman and the food. It was all fresh and super delicious! Would reccomend this to anyone passing through.

Great artfully prepared seafood in a great location right near the fishing fleet.

Food was excellent and service wonderful

The service was fast but we were the only people there. We got fish and chips and the fish was soggy and full of grease. It wasn't crispy. The cole slaw was very good. The fries were average. The environment was okay but seemed dirty. The fish looked like fish sticks and were small. The price was pretty high for the quality and portion size. In the future, (for the price) I will end up going somewhere with better quality and a cleaner/better environment even if I need to pay a little bit more. We won't be going back here. This is unfortunate because for such a great location, you'd expect fresh and delicious seafood. And for being the only ones there, the place should have been spotless. The service was not good because we got our food and a waitress never came to our table to get us refills or anything.

Eehhh there is better value and quality else where. The place is spendy kinda run down and needs a refresh

I don't know what happened, maybe changed ownership. Was there Oct 20th, portions were smaller, one waitress to handle bar & eating section. My coffee was $2.00. When I stated I was a senior, I did not get a answer. Two people inside. Food was still good.

Great fresh fish and chips

Pretty Good sandwiches and Fish n Chips. Needed fuel to keep crabbin' Yeah it's not a Michelin 5 star joint but what do you expect? It's literally called the "Sea Basked." Cool historical pics on the wall.

Help seemed very disinterested. Bot too many people in there and I can see why. Food is good but the people make it not fun nor a pleasant place to be.

Food is tasty(clam chowder and oyster sandwich), service is subpar. Have been coming here for many years, place seems to be declining... Oh, and they took away the pac man arcade.

Went there for lunch. Fish n chips were amazing. Nice portion sizes. Almost to much. Best tarter sauce I’ve ever had! Atmosphere was hometown casual just the right kind after a long day in the bay crabbing n fishing!

The soda tasted bad so when we asked for a new one waitress tested it and said it's fine. But gave us something different. Asked for crackers she said we don't give u crackers with bread bowl all snotty. Food was good tho.

Expensive!Good food especially cheese burgers. Great hand cut French fries. Not much ambiance. Nice people though.

A must have!!! Oh wow me and my wife had there fish n chips and wow got to say better then up North. Right next to the water couldn't get any better definitely be back next year

Ive gone here everytime I go to coast for the past 16-17 years is awesome food.

A fine place for a modest meal. It's located on the waterfront in Charleston though and the prices are a bit elevated. It was very well prepared and presented when it arrived. Flavor was well above expected in the dated setting. If the cost had been just a bit lower this would have rated a 4.

Many a better place close by. Would not go back. Asked for cream for my coffee and was giving whole milk. Price's where very steep for the food.

I prefer my fries with some crispness where as the fries here are... moist. So be sure to make that distinction. Otherwise, nice little spot to stop and have a beer.

This was the best burger I have had in a long time. Service is also great I would highly recommend.

Service was fast and food was really good, got fish and chips and I loved it! The toast was good, fries were delicious, so was the fish. Don't particularly like coleslaw but there's wasn't too bad!

Steep price for 10 small, burnt and rubbery shrimp, soggy fries and toast. Definitely better places to go in town.

The food tasted good, the portions were meek, the prices were high, and the menu wasn't clear. Looking at the menu it's hard to tell what comes with what and how much it cost. Somethings come with a drink and fries and other things don't but it's not clear what is what. The burgers aren't worth $4 and they are $6.99. Slim patty, large bun, 1/4 of an onion, thin tomato, thin slice of cheese, and a handfull of shredded lettuce. The shrimp basket is a good deal. The combo 2, oyster and fish combo $17.99 not worth it.It did come out really fast though.

I have been coming to Charleston multiple times a year since I was a kid, and have eaten here with family several times, they have always been overpriced & lack luster but conveniently located by the docks we crab from. Down on the docks last week my 5 year old needed to go potty (urgently). I went in and was walking my daughter to the bathroom & the waitress stopped us to inform me that there is a $1 charge to use the restroom. In a town so heavily dependent on tourism I would think this business would be more accommodating. I had planned to grab lunch with my kiddo there, as they are right at the dock and we had crab pots in the water. But after this instance I will not support them.
